Overview
Developed interactive digital exhibits and educational games using Unity, C#, and React, taking products from concept to shipped release.
Shipped HELM, a multiplayer WebGL escape-room game that trains container-ship crews on key aspects of their roles.
Built CEASEFIRE, a dialogue-driven negotiation game teaching young peacemakers the fundamentals of brokering real-world ceasefires.
Created an interactive Bayeux Tapestry exhibit, letting users scroll the tapestry and explore individual elements to learn what each depicts.

What I Built
HELM was built with Unity for the front-end, Unity Relay and Lobby as well as AWS for the multiplayer backend. A key challenge in this project was to find a way to implement PDF and image file uploads through the Unity WebGL build of the project. This required some external javascript and emscripten usage. The image data needed to then be serialised and compressed to stay within the file transfer limits imposed by AWS.
CEASEFIRE involved a large amount of character animation and dialogue writing which definitely took me out of the usual developer work I was used to. I implemented the key character animations for the game through software called RIVE which was then ported over to Unity.
Living Bayeux Tapestry was the simplest of the three projects and involved simple development using primarily the Unity UI Toolkit which takes a more structured markup and CSS approach to game UI design.
03
What I learned
Implementing a these experiences required learning AWS and multi-layered thinking and understanding of networking and serialisation in C#
Refactoring and documentation allows for all-around better code and all-round better quality of life for your fellow developers.
